Industry Experience: 25 Years
Graduating with a Masters in Geology, Thorsten began his Oil & Gas career in 1990 working for Baker Hughes (at the time known as Western Atlas) as a logging engineer. Since then, he has built up a wealth of experience with over 25 years in the industry, specialising in in open hole and cased hole wireline logging, with specific training in Magnetic Resonance, Reservoir Characterization, Production Logging and Reservoir Performance Monitoring.
Throughout his career he has worked globally on projects in Europe, UK, Africa, Middle East and Asia, and for a range of global and local operators including AGIP, Anadarko, BP, Cairn, CNOOC, Gazprom, Marathon, MOL, Noble Energy, Tullow, Petro Vietnam, among others. Operations experiences is varied to include onshore, remote operations, deep water, and a range of wireline, coiled tubing, drill pipe and tractor conveyance.
During his time and Baker Hughes, Thorsten has held various roles from his starting Jr Field Engineer, Field Engineer, Snr Field Engineer, General Field Engineer, and Engineer in Charge, responsible for satellite base operations. As Engineering Charge, he has held client facing roles globally, where being fluent in German, English, Italian and French was used to help establish lasting technical and personal relationships.
With a methodical mind and an eye for detail, Thorsten has helped design, create and implement various procedures, both for Baker Hughes and also since joining one&zero. His main roles at one&zero are operational planning, audits, equipment preparation and rig site witnessing.
